Man is created in the likeness and image of God and was given dominion to rule and reign over this earth in Adam. Through Adam’s transgression and rebellion against God, we lost our former place of authority. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one” (Romans 3:10). Jesus Christ shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God (I John 3:8). Salvation is the gift of God to man, given by grace and not earned by works, and received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing fruits consistent with repentance. True Godly sorrow and repentance must accompany salvation. The new birth is necessary for all men and is produced when a person repents and turns from their sin, believes in their heart, and confesses with their mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9-10, John 3:3-5, II Corinthians 7:10, I John 5:12). Baptism in water by immersion is a commandment of our Lord and is for believers only. It is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers. This experience is accompanied by the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit gives utterance. We do not believe that speaking in tongues is a requirement for salvation but it is a gift for those who believe. Hell is a physical place that was created for the devil and his demons. However, this became man’s eternal destination when he rebelled against God in the garden. Those who reject the offer of salvation from our Lord will live eternally in this place of eternal damnation. Biblical marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman.
